St. Patrick’s Day candy treat – an easy food craft project.

“Pot of Gold” is a very easy candy craft project.

Materials you will need: a clear glass or baby food jar, green or black cellophane or tissue paper, gold chocolate coins, and a leprechaun doll.

Step 1. First we need to make a pot for holding the “gold”. There are many ways to do this. Here are some of them:

a) Take a clear glass and a St. Patrick’s Day themed bag (or a piece of green cellophane or tissue paper). Put the glass down inside the bag, and tuck the top of the bag inside the glass. If you have loose pieces of the bag sticking out at the bottom, just fold them under and tape them in place using pieces of scotch tape.

b) Take a clear glass and decorate it with foam self-adhesive shamrocks (you can buy these in any craft store).

c) Wash and dry a small baby food jar and paint a few of shamrocks with green markers or paint on it. Or you can write Happy St. Patrick’s Day on the jar.

d) Paint a baby food jar black and let it dry. Then you can write Happy St. Patrick’s Day on it using green, yellow, or gold paint or markers.

Step 2. Fill your pot with gold chocolate coins.

Step 3. Put the leprechaun doll behind the “pot of gold” as though he is holding it. You can even glue the leprechaun’s arms to the sides of the pot with glue dots or pieces of clear scotch tape.

You are done. It’s that simple.
