Candy Centerpieces – Candy Sundae "It is a girl!"Note: This candy craft project is copyrighted. To make candy centerpieces like this you will need: a Sundae glass (I bought it at Cost Plus World Market store for about $2.00), starlight mint hard candies (white with red stripes on the edge with clear wrappers), cellophane, pink ribbon, a stick candy, stem wire (16 or 18 ga) or bamboo skewers, Styrofoam for silk arranging, small silk pink tulips, a white carnation, green floral tape, pink fury yarn, and tools. Candy Sundae - Step 1. Take the Sundae glass.
Candy Sundae - Step 2. Fill the glass about 2/3 full with the starlight mint hard candies, leaving some space for the Styrofoam.
Candy Sundae -Step 3.
b) Pull the cellophane up around the foam and insert it in the glass.
c) Cover the foam with the pink decorative grass, pink fury yarn or shredded paper. You can secure it with floral pins. I used pink yarn in this arrangement.
Candy Sundae - Step 4. Make some candy flowers.
b) Wire and tape 3 candies on each stem wire or bamboo skewer. Make as many candy flowers, as you would like.
c) Tie a curling ribbon around each candy flower. To prevent curling ribbon from sliding down on the stick, attach curling ribbon to the stick using mini glue dot.
Candy Sundae - Step 5. Insert candy flowers in the Sundae glass.
Candy Sundae - Step 6. Insert small silk pink tulips in the bouquet spacing them evenly.
Candy Sundae - Step 7. Insert a white silk carnation at the back of the bouquet.
Candy Sundae - Step 8. Put in the stick candy next to the white carnation. If the stick candy is not long enough, attach a piece of stem wire to the back of the stick candy using scotch tape.
Candy Sundae - Step 9. Make a big bow out of pink ribbon and attach it to the front of the Sundae glass using hot glue or double sided tape.
Congratulations! If you would like to make Candy Sundae “It’s a boy”, use candy in blue wrappers (for example, Dubble Bubble Gum or Baby Ruth miniatures), blue flowers and a blue bow. There candy sundaes make delicious baby shower gifts.
